ABOUT TYLER

Tyler fell in love with public service as a young kid - often attending City Council meetings and spending time with members of the state legislature to find ways to get more involved in the community. His parents taught him that good public servants are the ones that listen to those they serve before taking orders from political bosses - something he's carried with him throughout his career. As a Sophomore in college, Tyler was offered a job in the Governor's office - traveling the state and speaking about community-based initiatives to strengthen families and local economic development. He worked full-time while he finished his degree and built a reputation as a strong collaborator, excellent community organizer, and talented public speaker. After earning his Bachelor's degree, Tyler went on to receive a Masters of Public Administration, focused in public-sector and non-profit management - and now serves on the South St. Paul City Planning Commission.

During his decade-long career in public service, Tyler worked  in various state agencies, as well as local government at the County Auditor's office. In every role he held, Fehrman was known as the "people person" who worked hard to bring every voice to the table.

Tyler left public service to work as a leading advocate for renewable energy and conservation efforts - continuing his dedication to serving others on issues that matter to our daily lives.

Since then, he's continued his career in the private sector - working to advance responsible, market-based renewable energy in an effort to make the world a cleaner, healthier place.

More than anything, Tyler believes that politics, policy, and public service are about People First - always, and no matter what - and that there is no greater cause than serving the people of the community you call home. That's why he's running for City Council.

Tyler currently sits on the South St. Paul City Planning Commission and lives on the south side of town with his family. During the Summer he coaches Hendrix's South St. Paul T-Ball team (the SSP "Diamond Dogs"), and he and his family can regularly be found walking downtown and enjoying Kaposia Days, Independence Day festivities, and the On the Road Again festival. He's running for City Council because he's passionate about public service - and is "chomping at the bit" to be an advocate for the people of South St. Paul.

Vote Tyler Fehrman for South St. Paul City Council on Tuesday, November 5th!
